June 24, 2014

Paychex, Inc. has been recognized by IDG's Computerworld as one of the 2014 Best Places to Work in IT, ranking number 47 in the large company category. This marks the 10th consecutive year Paychex has appeared on the list of the top 100 organizations that challenge their IT staffs while providing great benefits and compensation; the company ranked number 77 in 2013.

"This is an exciting time for IT at Paychex," said Michael E. Gioja, senior vice president of IT, product management, and development. "Our employees are working on mission-critical projects that help drive the company's growth, enhance the productivity of our own workforce, and help our small business clients have easier access to Paychex's payroll, HR, benefits, and insurance products to do what they want, where they want, and how they want."

Gioja added that the company's robust training programs help IT staff stay on top of ever-changing technologies, and internal development programs help employees grow their careers at Paychex.

In addition to ranking number 47 in the large company category, Paychex ranked fourth on the overall list by the number of training days offered (18 days per employee, on average) and number 25 on the overall list by the percentage of IT employees promoted (15%).

"Hiring the best and the brightest IT pros, offering them competitive pay, and providing top-notch benefits is just the beginning for the outstanding employers on this year's Best Places to Work in IT list," said Scot Finnie, editor in chief of Computerworld. "Both newcomers to the list and rock-steady stalwarts nurture their talent with challenging business-critical projects, extensive training opportunities, and ongoing career development programs. They invest in their own futures by investing in their employees."
