Paychex, Inc., a leading provider of integrated human capital management solutions for payroll, HR, retirement, and insurance services, will be exhibiting at the AICPA’s Engage 2017 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, June 12 –15, where it will highlight how guidance in the area of human resources can help accountants develop stronger, more meaningful client relationships.

According to research from Source Media, commissioned by Paychex and CPA.com, only 29 percent of accountants offer HR and employee benefits advisement to clients. Yet, the research indicates that accountants possess important insights about the business of their clients and can make knowledgeable recommendations regarding HR matters.

Recognizing the value of HR advisory services, Paychex and CPA.com in September announced an expanded partner program, adding human resources to the full suite of services, including payroll and retirement benefits, available through the program. As part of the offering, CPAs refer clients to partner with Paychex, one of the country’s leading providers of HR and human capital management solutions, solidifying the accountants’ role as expert advisor and creating strategic, revenue-generating consultation opportunities for CPAs.

“Evolving dynamics such as the shift to a virtual workforce, along with a rapidly changing regulatory environment, translate to new challenges for the small business clients that accountants advise every day,” said Martin Mucci, Paychex president and CEO. “Keeping up with these changes requires expert guidance, and the CPA.com and Paychex Partner Program puts accountants in the best position possible to address this growing client need.”

“Payroll, retirement and human resource administration are important components of client accounting and virtual CFO services,” said Erik Asgeirsson, president and CEO of CPA.com. “Paychex has been a pioneer in this category and one of our longest-standing strategic partners. They can play a critical advisory role to firms and their clients.”

At the conference, attendees can visit the Paychex booth (#519) to learn more about enhancing client relationships through the addition of HR advisory services. Additionally, booth staff will be showcasing a new HR Diagnostic Tool, which allows accountants to assess client needs related to employee recruitment and retention, workplace management, safety, and more. A new Source Media white paper, entitled “Why Accountants Must Be Prepared to Advise Clients on Human Resources” and sponsored Paychex and CPA.com, will also be available.

In addition to these resources, Paychex experts will be participating in a series of speaking engagements at the conference. Senior manager of the retirement advisor channel Frank Tortora will co-present a session on considerations for building effective and efficient next- generation retirement plans. Additionally, senior product manager Chris Zian, will present a session on human capital management technology and how it benefits clients and firms.

As the Platinum Sponsor of Engage 2017, Paychex is proud to be the preferred provider of payroll, HR, and retirement services for the AICPA Trusted Business Advisor Program, now in its 14th year.
